Planning a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm with a guest who has special needs? You’ll also discover quiet zones for sensory breaks, ride accessibility tips, and KidTrack wristbands to help reunite your group quickly if someone wanders off. Pro Tip: Visit Guest Services first thing in the morning to make the most of your day. Whether you’re there for thrill rides, funnel cakes, or a photo with Snoopy, this guide will help you create a stress-free Knott’s experience for the whole family.
Before you hit the roller coasters or say hi to Snoopy, quickly stop at Guest Services (across from GhostRider’s exit near Security/First Aid). Pro tip: Days that Knott’s will be very busy (weekends, holidays, and school breaks). Get to the park early and go straight to Guest Services because the line will get very long. You do not want to waste a portion of your day in the Guest Services line, and my family has seen that line get very long!
Here’s why:
–Boarding Passes: Schedule ride times without waiting in long lines. –KidTrack Wristbands: These help reunite you with your party if someone wanders off (because sometimes adventure calls unexpectedly).
Need a set of wheels? You’re welcome to bring your own stroller, wheelchair, or Electric Convenience Vehicle (ECV), or rent one at the Stroller Shop in Ghost Town. Rentals are first come, first-served, but some can be reserved online in advance.
Heads Up:
If you’ve got a service dog, they’re welcome at the park, but there are some ground rules:
-They must be leashed and well-behaved at all times.
-One service animal per guest.
-They can ride a few select attractions (like Beagle Express Railroad, Calico Mine Ride, and Sky Cabin), but most rides require them to stay with a non-riding member of your party.
Not Allowed: Water attractions, ride seats (they must sit on the floor), and inside Knott’s Scary Farm mazes.
Need a potty break for your pup? Knott’s has service animal relief areas around the park—just check your map or ask a team member!
Need a moment away from all the sights and sounds? Whether it’s a cool-down, snack break, or just a moment to reset, here are some great places to take a breather:
–First Aid Station (next to GhostRider)
–Air-conditioned restaurants (a great escape from the summer heat and sensory overload!)
–Several rest areas throughout the park

Theme parks are exciting, and sometimes that excitement leads to unexpected detours—like a sudden fascination with a Snoopy plush across the park (my son takes this detour often). If you’re visiting with someone who tends to wander, we highly recommend stopping by Guest Services for a KidTrack wristband.
A little planning goes a long way in making sure your visit is fun and worry-free!
Snap a Photo: Take a picture of your group, especially anyone who tends to wander. If you get separated, this makes it easier for park staff to help.
Headphone Alert: Some attractions require guests to remove their headphones. Need ear protection? Disposable earplugs are available at First Aid!
Ride Delays Happen: If a ride stops mid-run, guests may need to sit quietly while it restarts or wait to be escorted off.
Test Ride First: Not sure if a ride is a good fit? Have someone in your group try it out first before making a decision. For my family, I made my son start with a starter roller coaster at Camp Snoopy, and as he got older, I would take him on a next-level roller coaster. Now that he is 10 years old and tall enough to get on all rides. The sky is the limit on roller coasters, he will get on any ride now (Dad, not so much)!
Love live entertainment? If you need American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, just request it at least one week in advance, and Knott’s will make sure an interpreter is available at the live shows. Fill out the request form on the Knott’s website, and they will take care of the rest.
